Midwestern Girl's Childhood Ignites a Passion for Helping Others
Because of lessons I learned in my childhood about lending a helping hand to those in need, I found tremendous satisfaction in my adult life through philanthropic work.
Early in my life, I experienced many hardships and my family often struggled to make ends meet. I know first hand how important it is that we live in a society where we help others to the best of our ability. As a child, I was raised knowing this is an important responsibility regardless of your age or stature in life. Whether it was watching my mother prepare a dinner for an ill friend or knowing that I needed to stand up for the underdog on the school playground, each of us tried to help others as best we could.
Later in life, I had the opportunity to help others on a larger scale. Knowing that you improved the lives of others is an empowering and humbling experience. When you look at how the charitable dollars are put to use, it truly helps to put your own personal struggles into perspective. You feel a sense of connection with people from all walks of life when you're doing your part to give back.
Launching a line of purses and apparel gives me another vehicle to give back to the community. Lending a helping hand to others and my love of design and fashion are both very near and dear to my heart. For this reason, I am so pleased that a portion of all proceeds from my handbag and apparel lines will benefit charitable organizations. Giving back to the community has been, is, and will continue to motivate me in all that I do.
