At the tender age of 9, Tomisue attended her first ever horse race at Churchill Downs with her father. From the moment that she cheered the horses down the homestretch with her father by her side, she dreamed of owning a horse that would race in the Kentucky Derby.

During the mid 1990s, Tomisue and her husband, Stephen, began pursuing this dream. The first step was to hire the highly respected horseman, Tim Sams as an advisor to the horse operation.

The goal was to acquire fillies to race and then retire as broodmares. The first three fillies were named after Tomisue in recognition of her long-standing dream to be involved in horse racing. She has dedicated countless hours, meeting with professionals to learn about all aspects of the horse business and playing an active role in decisions affecting the business.

Tomisue’s involvement has brought her great joy. She’s extremely proud to be a part of this great American past time that has stood the test of time for generations.
